SAAT for Food Allergies

Food allergies are very common allergies which account for 200,000 visits to the emergency room each year in the United States. That is one visit every 3 minutes!  Cow’s milk, shellfish, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, wheat, sesame seeds, mustard and soy are the cause of 80% of all food allergies and sensitivities. Common symptoms may include: tingling in the mouth, hives, itching, eczema, swelling of lips, face, tongue, throat or other body parts, wheezing, nasal congestion, trouble breathing, abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, dizziness, light-headedness. These symptoms indicate that the body is unable to digest these items due to an over active immune response. Food allergies can be life-threatening if anaphylactic shock occurs.

SAAT for Alpha-gal Syndrome

“Alpha-gal”, or galactose-alpha-1,3 galactose, is a sugar that is found in the meat, milk or products made from mammals, with the exception of humans, apes and monkeys. In addition to milk and meat products that include Alpha-gal sugar can include: clothing (wool, cashmere, alpaca, leather) gelatin, cosmetics (lanolin), pig heart valves and vein grafts, drugs like heparin, cetuximab and everyone’s go-to for allergic reactions, diphenhydramine (brand name: Benedryl) and cetirizine (brand name: Zyrtec).  Supplements that are encapsulated in gelatin capsules also cause allergic reactions for those who suffer from Alpha-gal. Alpha-gal sugar is a hidden ingredient in detergents, cosmetics, makeup, shaving cream and chewing gum. Some patients have severe reactions from even smelling meat barbequing! Alpha-gal allergies are caused by the bite of the Lone Star tick which is prevalent in the US.

Symptoms of Alpha-gal can include rashes, itching, redness in palms and soles, dizziness, abdominal cramping, diarrhea, vomiting, and in severe cases, anaphylactic shock. It can be tricky to diagnose because these allergic reaction symptoms are delayed, happening hours or a day after exposure.

Alpha-gal has no western medicinal treatment except to avoid exposure to foods and environmental items that contain the Alpha-gal sugar.  SAAT is a very effective treatment and is recognized in the western medicine community as such.  SAAT research does appear in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology with specific reference to auricular acupuncture and kinesiology as an effective treatment for Alpha-gal.  The first link is the study.  The second link is Dr. Solimon’s research study on SAAT.

What is SAAT?

SAAT stands for Solimon’s Allergy Elimination, named for its founder, Nader Solimon, MD, and is a clinically proven method that permanently eliminates allergies. In most cases, SAAT provides permanent relief from the allergen treated. SAAT is capable of addressing not only food allergies/sensitivities, but most any negative immune-response allergy or sensitivity.

How does SAAT work?

Allergic responses develop where there is severe inflammation in the body. That creates an overly sensitive immune system that begins to malfunction. SAAT reprograms the immune system by stopping its over reaction to allergens. SAAT is very specific and requires one needle per allergen in most cases.

How effective is SAAT?

The SAAT protocol is documented to be nearly 100% effective clinically (85-100%) following more than 10 years of case studies and clinical trials.  Most allergy sufferers that do not have a history of anaphylaxis have 100% relief of the allergens that are treated with SAAT.

If patients have previously had a life-threatening episode of anaphylaxis because of a food allergy, please be aware that they may still react to that food but at a lesser degree.  For this reason, patients are advised to continue avoiding the food.  If the same food is accidently ingested after SAAT, it should not cause another anaphylactic reaction.

SAAT is life changing as it reprograms your nervous system to no longer react to harmless stimuli.

What is the process of the SAAT procedure?

There are two steps to clearing an allergen. The first is to use Bio Energetic testing for your particular allergy to determine the location of the needle. This is done using a homeopathic vial with the frequency (specific energetic signature) of the allergen. A specialized volt meter is then used to find the exact location in your ear that is the most conductive for the specific allergen. Needles are then placed with bandage and surgical glue cover needles. The needles used are tiny; about the size of an eyelash.

The procedure is pain-free. Needles remain in the ear for a 3-4 weeks and the ear must be kept clean and dry until the needles are removed.

*For those who have had past anaphylaxis due to food allergies, it is suggested that those foods are never purposely re-introduced after SAAT. If accidentally ingested, anaphylaxis should not re-occur but the patient may have an allergic reaction to the allergen.

What is the cost and what is included?

SAAT technique is not covered by health insurance.

The initial allergy elimination appointment is $400. This includes a thorough intake, diagnosis and treatment for up to 3 food allergies as well as testing and treatment (if needed) for MCAS (Mast Cell Activation Syndrome). MCAS is commonly found with food allergies.

If allergies treated during initial allergy elimination are not resolved, a second treatment will be provided at no cost.

Return appointments to treat additional food allergies are $200.
